Ask HN: Does anyone has experience with fisher vector/ image matching?

I follow the general idea of converting multiple sift features into a single fisher vector for matching of million of images. But the distance score matching of fisher vector fails completely. I cannot find a successful example with code. The only working example I knew is Google lens.
