Ask HN: Where can I find non-profits to do vounteer development work for?

I'm a full-stack developer with about 7 years of experience. I don't have work at the moment and am looking for non-profits or charities that I could do small projects for. I want to do this to help people and keep myself busy, but I confess the hope that maybe in the future some of those people will be able to send work my way, or recommend me for paid contracts (I do have to eat). Does anyone know where I could find maybe a list of such organizations needing help with things? I would assume many here have time on their hands now and might be looking for the same thing. Thanks for any resources you guys have:)
