what do you use for family calendar management?

I realize most calendars are now full of cancellations but I'd like to self-host our current calendar solution. I am looking for open alternatives if available?

Any experiences/opinions/expansive thoughts are welcome and encouraged!

open to non-browser based but prefer an 'open' solution.
