Ask HN: How Are You Feeling?

I wasn't used to working from home 5 days a week, and not being able to see my friends or go out, I thought my mental health would suffer. But despite all this, I honestly feel like a new person. I am waking up with more energy, have a better outlook on work, and am generally happier.

After work I also have time to do more because of the lack of a commute. Like cooking a nice meal rather than something quick, working on a side project or contributing to open source, working out, etc.

Because of the long lines at grocery stores, it has also taught me to better plan meals. Rather than going to the store every 2 days for some household items and 2-3 meals, I buy for the entire week.

My productivity has changed. Instead of a steady stream of average productivity throughout the day, it comes in waves of high productivity with lulls of messing around with personal projects, video games or watching YouTube videos.

If given the option, I'm not sure I would want to continue working from home 5 days a week. I think I need the social aspect of an office. But I'm considering asking for 2 days at home, in the hopes of keeping this boost of happiness and energy.

So, HN, how are you feeling?
