Ask HN: Anyone has tried switching to a TN visa after filing a PERM application?

Wondering if somebody has been through this before.

I was on a TN, switched to an H1B and my employer is about to file a PERM application.

I want to bootstrap soon and this might need me switching to a TN, but seems like filing the PERM would prevent me to do this.

Anyone has any advice?
