And here we have a prime example that the gender pay gap doesn't exist. Those women got paid half as much as a man but it was ultimately a meaningless comparison because men didn't even get hired in the first place and therefore their effective wages were 0. Cheap female labor completely drowned out the male competition. When one group of people (such as illegal immigrants) gets an unfairly low wage what happens is that this group ends up dominating the job.

The idea that women don't work male dominated jobs because they get an unfairly low pay because of their gender simply makes no sense whatsoever. If the misogyny existed, the opposite would happen. The job would become female dominated overnight.

After the movie Hidden Figures, I'm not sure where the "obscura" comes in.
