Ask HN: Facebook cancelled my summer internship. How to spend my summer?

Hello everyone!

I am third year student who was excitedly looking forward to join Facebook for a summer internship, as a software engineer. I choose them from a few offers and now, I just received an email telling me that they are cancelling my internship.

This was probably my last chance of having an internship (I am in my penultimate year). What can I do to make the best of my summer (meet people, learn a lot, prepare myself to join the industry)?

I think one thing I will miss the most is the chance of working with other people, with far more experience than me.
