I read 3-4 sources and none linked to the video[0] for some reason.
Anyone know how these are made? In many ways it reminded me of the MongoDB is Webscale[1] one - is there some kind of popular tool or framework that is used to make them?
Even while recognizing that it's propaganda, one can also appreciate it as hilarious and expert-level spin and trolling by state actors. I agree it's worth the watch. You don't have to agree with its interpretation of events, but you can think critically about why the message they crafted would appeal to one target audience while inciting anger and frustration in another target audience, and what goals the video's producers might have in making it.
The timeline is 100% accurate, anyone that follows international trade/news was aware of the dangers by the end of January.(I personally remember reading the papers about the virus's genome mid-January)
It seems we are in a period where most of our politicians would rather not take responsibility for dropping the ball and are trying to lie about observable and well catalogued recent history.
That's true. And the CDC did say not to wear a mask, and various other aspects of the US reaction are accurate. And the video doesn't even talk about faulty CDC test kits, banning of imported test kits, or other American own-goals in this crisis.
It does brush over some other details on the Chinese side, of course.

probably because it's straight propaganda.
seems that focus on recovery and fear-mongering is slowly shifting to the blame game and finger pointing propaganda.
Can't wait for some American equivalent to be labeled racist and immature.
Separate intent from the truths and repurpose it.
