Ask HN: What do you want to see out of business case studies?
I was recently hired at a niche furniture ecommerce company (fairly successful as well) and found extremely gross inefficiencies both in their tech side and general operations. In the past few months I started writing down the problems, solutions I've had to shove down their throats and trying to analyze how it got that bad and why there's an odd leadership push back from actually making things efficient. Started out as therapy because I've been wanting to bash my head against the wall every day since I started, but I realized theres some value in organizing my little journal-therapy into something polished.
Out of curiosity, what would the community like to see from something like this? I try to explain the approach I take in the apps I've been making them to streamline the process, minus the code. Focusing more on the day to day problems and what solutions, plus hurdles both tech and human that need to be overcome.
Anything else you'd like to see from a 20k+ word case study done by a dev?
