Ask HN: How to build skills for leadership roles
Recently, I have been interviewing for senior leadership roles at mid-size/large companies. I am currently a VP but I do not manage a very large team.
The feedback I usually get is: although I excelled in the skills required for the job, I lacked executive presence & gravitas. I have a little bit of impostor syndrome and English is not my first language although I am pretty good at it. I am not sure how to improve my chances or in general get better with gravitas/executive presence. Would appreciate any resources/ideas.
