I'm curious how much he was paid in this move. The biggest moves I'm aware of is Ninja and Shroud moving from Twitch to Mixer. It's been confirmed that they were each paid 20-30 million dollars.
Given that JRE is at least an order of magnitude wider in reach than the top livestreamers, I'm going to say he got at least 100 million dollars from this.
EDIT: Okay, I did a bit more digging. Apparently JRE's annual revenue is ballparked to be between 50-100 million [1]. For this deal to make sense, I think the starting point is 500 million. I think it is very likely that this was a billion dollar deal.
