Ask HN: Side Project Advice

I'm currently a full-time dev in the UK, on PAYE but I want to start monetising my side project, but the swamp of HMRC paperwork has got me down, does anyone know of a 'quick and easy' UK-based guide to staying employed but having a second income from a side-project and how to deal with the accounting/tax?
