Why do you assume they are a group? Many people wear black and like destruction.

Probably a mix of different people with different motives: agent provocateurs, looters, politically motivated property destroyers, struggling business owners seeking to cash in on the insurance, thrill-seekers.

Right wing groups posing as antifa. Happens in Europe too.
