There is a similarity (if not identity) between the attitude of the writer of this article and that of a schizophrenic. She has created a world view that is internally consistent and that can accept no possibility of change from without (well, from a white person).
What is interesting and different (from the schizophrenic) is that this is actually good news for the writer. Reason is, as one schizophrenic told me, "If I don't tell anyone about the colored ping pong balls that are bouncing around the room then they don't know what i see and it doesn't bother them. All I need to do is keep quiet about it." She was doing well pursuing her college degree and raising her child.
IOW keeping quiet about (one might say accepting) one's problems allows one to live a more normal life. Its good advice for most anyone.
