Ask HN: What’s your mobile app infrastructure look like?

I’m in a new position where I’m leading a mobile (iOS/Android) team and I’m looking to learn more on common and best practices when structuring the data pipeline for our apps.

For example, our applications have a high majority of their data coming from a single API. It has GraphQL support so we can wrangle connected data with minimal requests and we even built some previous data bundling tools.

But this team consistently has had problems with the lack of an intermediary system to manage data we may want to pre-process further, state for push notifications, and similar.

Is it common to have infra specifically designed to support the data coming to and out of your mobile apps?

I’ve begun my reading and exploring, speaking to the team, but I always find HN valuable in this cases.
