Ask HN: Should I study to take the GRE exam for an CSMO?
Hi All, I'm thinking about getting a master's in computer science. I currently work as a software engineer with over 2 years of experience. I want to apply to Online Master programs such as the one at The University of Texas at Austin or Georgia Tech.
However, I don't want to spend too much time studying for the GRE exam. I have a family and a full-time job as a developer and an undergrad degree in Computer Information Systems. I wonder, is the GRE test score really important for an online master's degree in cs and for someone that already is working in the industry?
I'm actually thinking of taking the exam cold turkey. What are your thoughts? Would an average score affect my chances at the University of Austin master's in CS online? have you taken the GRE cold turkey?
