So, is "master" an racist word now? Are we racist for saying "master bedroom", "master record" and such? Do these terms really evoke slavery for anyone? I feel like I'm living in a different world.
To me this feels like claiming that "oh my god" is a religious saying. It certainly was at some point in history when everyone was religious, just like "master bedroom" probably referred to actual masters at some point, but today neither carry the full palette of the original meaning.
Today atheists and non believers routinely use "oh my god" with no intent to make a statement in support of religion, just as people use various "master" terms without any reference to slavery or patriarchy or whatever else the word "master" used to mean to people 100 years ago.
Like, even the word "lady" is apparently offensive now. To me it's just one of the respectful ways to refer to a woman ("the lady at the counter said ...").
What is this madness we got ourselves into... harmless but old fashioned words are not relevant to the real discrimination problems we're facing.

I don't think it is racist, I think more discriminatory. Those who think it is racist, would be denying the history of slavery.
