Paul Graham, of Y Combinator, commented on Patrick Collison's tweet:

“It is not without cost for the head of a global business to take this kind of stand, which is why you see so few doing it.”

Meanwhile others actively seek to do whatever it takes to get into China (see Google's Sundar Pichai, FB's Zuckerberg, etc).
Xi, Hitler, Stalin. Same monsters, just different names.

This is what evil looks like:

China forcing birth control on Uighurs to suppress population, report says

If you don't know what an IUD is, or what the side-effects are, I suggest you read about it.

> For decades, China had one of the most extensive systems of minority entitlements in the world, with Uighurs and others getting more points on college entrance exams, hiring quotas for government posts and laxer birth control restrictions. Under China’s now-abandoned ‘one child’ policy, the authorities had long encouraged, often forced, contraceptives, sterilization and abortion on Han Chinese. But minorities were allowed two children — three if they came from the countryside.

This is what evil looks like?

Yes, that is horrible

It is horrible, you're right.

The parent comment implied it was evil to mistreat minorities - absolutely true. But in the article that was linked it mentions that they were treated better than the majority, and were now reduced to the same (horrible) treatment of the majority.

This is an altogether different crime due to mistakes in policy that lead to overpopulation. Would the Nazi Germans ever have let Jewish people have fewer restrictions and easier access to government positions? No. The comparison as presented here is untenable.

Oh god, not the cost! Fuck humans; let's earn some cash.

IUD procedures are actually awful, it involves a speculum, a needle to the cervix, and a device for spreading it to insert the IUD. They last 3-10 years depending on size, and are not risk free.

My girlfriend had cramps for months, and went to the hospital 4 times from the pain with the smallest IUD.

YC seems to have had a biff with the Chinese government.

They abandoned plans to expand to China at the end of last year without too much details (afaik). Something must have happened and clearly there is no love lost.

This guy is the primary source of the article

The edit history for this article, and your recent comment history, are quite fascinating.
He clearly has an agenda.
I just don't want to live in a divisive and post-fact world. It is both sad and scary that this is "fascinating" and "clearly an agenda".
The pointer to the source of this claim is useful and informative.

The bigger the claim the bigger the scrutiny should be.

Whether true or not, Zenz's claim seems to be bought without question because it is useful for the current narrative against China, and this is not healthy. In fact it is counterproductive.

they should do the same for the US government commiting atrocities to its own citizens and people in the middle east
There are thousands of morally bankrupt activities happening on a large scale he could choose to highlight.
China uses slave labor and we eat it up while chanting rhymes about how we love freedom and black lives. It's really telling.
