Ask HN: Does Google make adtech money on Chrome but not Edge and Firefox users?
Edge and Firefox are cross-platform alternatives to Chrome that have some form of tracking prevention enabled by default. Chrome does not.
Does that mean that Google’s advertising business is less profitable when someone visits the same websites in Edge/Firefox compared to Chrome?
That would mean that by switching from Chrome to Edge or Firefox, people could remove or at least reduce the amount of adtech revenue that Google makes from their web browsing.
