Ask HN: Unixepoch – nanoseconds or milliseconds, what should be stored?
Time is complicated..
there are many bad things about time..
just got to know about 2038.
then there's that leap second thing.
i wonder how many more sh--ty things are there about time, and how languages handle them.
What should be stored in database, is there any drawback of one or other. Or is it just that nanoseconds is just a higher precision.
What if a language only supports milliseconds precision and i just multiply 1e+6, are there any drawbacks to that?
