How to get real life experience with scalable micro-service architecture

More and more of s.eng jobs are now requiring developers with 5+ years of experience to have demonstrable experience scaling concurrent services. But in all my years of experience I have somehow gotten by without the need to do so since it can be quite the overhead. Just wondering how I can now do so because my current job does not require such an architecture, and in order to apply for new ones, it seems I need it unless I'm willing to start as a junior again...
