"Trump consults Bush torture lawyer on how to skirt law" What is the proof for that? The article specifies none... Not even hard evidence.
There’s no need for any of that pesky evidence as long as it’s about showing that Orange Man bad.
Second paragraph:

“ John Yoo told the Guardian he has been talking to White House officials about his view that a recent supreme court ruling on immigration would allow Trump to issue executive orders on whether to apply existing federal laws.” Whether to apply existing federal laws sure does sound like skirt laws to me.

“The supreme court has said President Obama could [choose not to] enforce immigration laws for about 2 million cases. And why can’t the Trump administration do something similar with immigration – create its own … program, but it could do it in areas beyond that, like healthcare, tax policy, criminal justice, inner city policy. I talked to them a fair amount about cities, because of the disorder.”

This is the slippery slope coming into play. The Supreme Court says it’s okay for Obama as the President to ignore the law. It was popular as it was pro-immigrants. Now Trump can do the same.

I remember "The Guardian" used to have quite a good reputation. When did this fall from grace happen?

The article rather sounds like something you'd expect from Vice or salon.com.

liberalism is a cancer
Im a simple man, I see The Guardian, and I skip reading anything it says.
But still can't skip commenting on it, apparently.
Its a political post on Hacker News. I posted a political response. What do you expect?
