Mieko Kawakami shared this on her Twitter, quite grateful that more Japanese novels and authors are reaching the western world. I recently read her book “Breasts and Eggs”, which was incredible for speaking to feminism, adulthood, and socioeconomics from a somewhat orthogonal perspective as it is written from a Japanese context.
