Facebook claims to support free speech. But what they're showing is unwillingness to limit the speeh of politicians, and willingness to censor those politicians' critics. Quite the whiplash
they’ve never actually supported free speech, if they did they’d have a chronological post feed
Facebook doesn't support free speech, if they did the article on Dreamwidth being blocked wouldn't be on the HN front page right now.
Dreamwidth has a spam problem that they need to fix.
This is apparently a video of theirs that was removed from Instagram for "Hate Speech"

Mostly just unflattering cuts of Trump talking...

Yeah, that's not hate speech. It's trash propoganda. It uses classical techniques like musical undertones, playing innocuous clips in show motion, audio reverb to sound creepy. I mean, sure, Facebook shouldn't censor it; it's not hate speech. But did Facebook censor anything that wasn't pure partisan trash propoganda? Because if not, I probably don't care.

It's the moral equivalent of censoring the daily caller or brietbart. Show me something that wasn't trash that they censored.

You're basically saying you're OK with Facebook censoring things for cinematographic reasons.

Has anything from the right similarly been censored for cinematographic reasons alone?

I was initially sympathetic until I watched that video. The style of reporting is similar to Breitbart or Infowars. Yes, Infowars was banned from Facebook.

Until Section 230 can be reworked, not much can be done. Perhaps Meidas can join Gab with the rest of the social media exiles (no snark intended).
