Ask HN: GPT-3 for Software Documentation?

1 points by vimax ↗ HN
GPT-3 can write a coherent paragraph, and can understand enough syntax and structure to generate some shallow code. Passing the Turing test and creating production code is a ways off, but it's at a level that could be capable of generating software documentation.

A GPT-3 generated summary of what a short function does that is always up-to-date would be better than no documentation or something that is years out of date. Also, this could be a benchmark of readability of code. If GPT can't read your code, it may need some refactoring.

Am I overestimating GPT-3 capabilities in this?

Are there any groups working on this? A quick search didn't bring anything up.
