Yeah, but what Google and the author does not tell you upfront is that you still would have to go through their vetting process, which is extreme, and probably less than 0.1% ever get past level 2.
My son is a CS grad at a top ten USA University and at only a B average overall in CS he never got past an email from Google, and really could care less. Now his fellow CS friends envy him since he got a 6 figure job started in Aug 2019, stock options, 10K signing bonus at a fortune 500 tech co where he shows up at 9 and works till 5, no pressure to work long hours or weekends slaving away (working at home since covid19).
His roommate was a 3.75 overall in CS, good with algorithms and white boarding, he never got past a level 2 interview with Google - - - he ended up at MS on the West coast for $150K, but cost of living out there will eat away $50K easy.
The rumor around his CS university group is don't waste your time with Google.
