Ask HN: Any developer deep dives into first party sports game?

As a kid I always wanted to work on sports games. Back then I loved Star League Baseball and then later TV Sports Basketball/Football.

Now as a professional I know I'll never work on those things (I do OS work now), but I'm still really interested in how these games like Madden and NBA 2k are built technically. But I can find very little in depth about them. Does anyone know of a pointer that can provide insight into how these top-tier sports games are developed?
