Ask HN: Can someone please invent a global opt-in service for cookie acceptance
To me the internet seems a little broken now as every single website I visit wants me to accept the fact that they use cookies so store information, following GDPR of course. This usually involves presenting a pop over that takes up 80% of the screen and take 5 attempts to accept the click event from my mobile browser so that I can find out the price of a can of dog food. From a UX perspective it’s UX Armageddon. Has anyone tried yet to create a global opt in service so that I can get back to using the internet? I realise companies hold data on me. No kidding. I think we are a little past worrying about that now unless you want to shutdown Google and Facebook.
