Ask HN: How many users does your side project have?

How many users do you have and what is the cost of running the side project? Are they paying users?

I have a side project idea that could be bootstrapped and self sustained with 15-20k paying users a month. This number of users seems incredibly high right now. I am looking for what experiences HN has had.
