I recently saw a post on social media which said "Jesus died because all lives matter". I guess the implication was that Jesus died to make it possible for us all to go to heaven.

And, because God could have easily prevented Jesus from being crucified but didn't it means that that was God's will.

But that made me think. If God is all-powerful, why couldn't he just let (good) people to Heaven without letting Jesus die?

In effect God had to (temporarily) kill Jesus to make it possible for all good people to get to heaven. Why would he have to do that, if he truly is all-powerful? Shouldn't it be the easiest thing for an all-powerful being to let good people into heaven, without having to have someone suffer the terrible torture of crucifixion?

Does that make sense to theologians?
