Ask HN: Obstactles for high/mid-res non-smart glasses?

I'd love to see stereo high res smart glasses just for typing. What's the technical challenge here? Monochromatic and transparent would be fine.

Or is it that everyone is jumping the AR train that is similarly not ripe just yet.
