Ask HN: Possibility for Uber to circumvent new California Contract labor law

Isn't there a way to circumvent the new California law by making the riders sign contracting agreements directly with the drivers instead of with Uber?

Uber can still take a cut of the transaction as a platform usage fee and keep most of their services as is.
