Is "is X the new Y" the new "10 incredible things"?

Judging by the number of entries following that patter in the frontpage, this is being overused. At least for me it seems that, paraphrasing the HN guidelines, "[...] you put gratuitous editorial spin on it [...]" with that structure.

Given that in most cases the answer is clearly no, could you please spend four more seconds thinking about the title? And orange is the new black, thank you.
