Ask HN: How to Transition to Remote Work

Hi everyone, I am a long, long time lurker of HN and have a bit of dilemma.

I have always worked onsite, the traditional way..

So, I have been approached by a really great previous boss and he's asked if id like to come to work for he's new company. The package is fantastic and the work is really right up my street. I really could ask for anything more so I am seriously considering it. It is a great opportunity.

I am in the UK and have been working from home since march so I feel like I am ready to at-least try and see how it goes, I am sure if I absolutely hate I could find another place, maybe even go back to my current place if we leave on good terms (which I am sure we would)

So my question to all HN: Have you transitioned to remote work? if so, how was it? what was hard? what was unexpected?

Any insights or anything really would be super helpful!
