I left Google / Google X last year after an 8.5 year career as a staff engineer to start EvolutionIQ and bring Google-scale machine learning to the insurance industry.

Insurance carriers have mountains of data (millions of claims annually), majority of it still siloed, and majority of the processes still entirely manual and done by humans.

In the first year of the company, we launched two products that unlock this data and we use it to advanced ML models for automation and soft fraud detection. In year one, we brought in 1MM in ARR, on track to do a multiple of that in year 2.

We're hiring a talented full stack / web application engineer. You'll be joining the founding team and get to design and build greenfield products receive early stage equity.

My internal view on the ideal person is outlined here:

Who are you? A rockstar senior full stack engineer responsible for the entire life cycle of designing, building and launching state of the art enterprise applications. You thrive in autonomy and do your best work in greenfield projects where you have high levels of ownership. You’re extremely creative and often bring new ideas to the table spontaneously.

You’re a natural-born hacker who can rapidly build prototypes to prove out ideas, but take pride in holding extremely high standards when developing production level code. You design highly modular architectures, understand the value of code reviews and take pride in writing professional technical design documents when input from others is needed. You exercise state of the art engineering practices in testing and deployment and know the right balance between moving fast and breaking things.

You love working directly with the head of product, data science team, UX designer, and occasionally non-technical end users. You’re a great listener and enjoy presenting technical ideas to a technical and non-technical audience alike.
