When was the last time you where overwhelmingly happy after helping someone?

Whether it be a family member, a friend or a customer/client. When was the last time you helped someone and you where unreasonably happy for the person? Especially if you didn't get anything personally from it. 2020 needs some good vibes and I'd love to hear how you've helped others.

Someone owed me money. I found out he was having a rough time, and had for a while, so I forgave the debt. What I got out of it was of greater value than the money.
I regularly donate to a range of charities whose good work I respect. It's recognised that providing welfare to others is actually beneficial for our own health. Spread the word.
Everyday. I’m currently a junior director of a help desk. I have teams to supply guidance to and customers that I assist directly. I try to balance helping people with my assigned responsibilities until I’m tapped out.
My default state is "unreasonably happy" but my latest "generosity" was making A couple of what I call "Porsche house calls" to help fix a friend's car. He's an hour away. Before I got sick, I used to to travel much further (different states) to help friends and strangers.

I am honest to myself. As the title suggests, I am generous because it makes me happy.

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT TAKE-AWAY

The flip side of this, is you need to let people be generous to you. If you don't, you are denying them this same pleasure. It was epiphany I had a decade ago. Us independent types want to do everything for ourselves.
