Can you make one? Construction is non-trivial. Good construction skills are rare. Construction takes a long time. People can take a year just building a small uninhabitable building. $100/sf is not much money for a habitable building because construction materials are expensive.
The most practical solution is an old van or even a used RV because they are already weather tight, semi-insulated, and built. Good luck.
Thanks for the feedback. I haven't considered an RV. We were thinking of getting a small camping trailer, I could use that as an office when we aren't traveling.
