Implementation of World of Warcraft?

Does anyone have any links to articles discussing (or inside knowledge of) the engineering of World of Warcraft or other big MMOs? How they design the systems, how they achieve scalability and stability, etc? I'm not talking about things like the in-game economics - but the actual engineering design considerations that go into the software and hardware itself.
