Thanks, cf history seems to be forgotten. Let's revive it for a new age.
This is all public, just need to dig to find it.
One day an extreme racist got angry his favorite sites were falling to ddos attacks. He figured out how to absorb ddos attacks. He used it to protect his favorite sites for a couple years. An exposè was written about why racist sites were no longer falling. At that point regular sites looked for protection and cf grew.
Every so often someone revives this. A couple weeks later cf states they dropped certain sites. Only problem is those sites rolled into other sites and all cf does is drop a domain not in use anymore.
At this point in time extreme racist sites enjoy free protection while everyone else pays. What type of sites you ask? The kind that espouse and sell books about measurements of facial features and whether you are worthy of being part of society or not.the kind that go on and on about how blacks can't do math and asians do it wrong...
Yeah, so while your employer pays to avoid ddos the racists get it for free.
Cloudflare workers, with the kv store, are really easy to use, and work great for some use cases. I'm very interested in what they might roll out tomorrow to enhance it. A SQL layer on top of the kv store maybe? Or maybe something like S3 buckets?
Looks like some managed database and storage services are on the horizon, along with better analytics without tracking cookies, then caching improvements, etc.
It also seems like new domain registration is still not on the (spoiler free) list.
A couple of months ago, I’d asked in one of the posts here [1] about why new domain registrations aren’t allowed on Cloudflare years after domain registrations was introduced, and the official response in a reply to my comment was that they didn’t want speculators to buy domains on the cheap and sit on them. I didn’t understand why speculators couldn’t just buy them somewhere else and transfer them over easily after a few months. In my understanding, speculators buy plenty of domains with the hope of profiting from a few of them, and so a slightly higher initial cost shouldn’t be a barrier.
Snark: Here’s to hoping that new domain registrations will come in the next few years.

My friend has a dashboard. I don’t. Support says it’s a rolling feature or something, but it’s been a couple months since that and still nothing.
