Ask HN: How can robotics be used to create a compelling game?
As a (former) robotics engineer, I keep trying to think of how robotics could be used to create a fun and engaging multiplayer game either online or in person. But the reality is, I just haven't seen it done yet, outside of "battle bots" which is obviously BYOR (Bring Your Own Robot).
Is there a way that robots could be used to be an integral part of a compelling game? Robots have some interesting features over apps/simulations which could be taken advantage of:
- Autonomous agents
- Real-world randomness
- Indirect control vs direct control
- Real-time vs turn based
