Ask HN: Have you built an iPhone app that took off?

I have been reading about breakout hits on the iPhone/Android lately. Apps that did really well after being released, like uzu visualization, trism, etc, and I'm wondering if anyone on HN has similar stories and wants to share anything (stats, etc).
