/e/OS redefines the mobile OS paradigm for a more sustainable world (medium.com)

Why doesn't /e/ foundation mention in these articles that they depend on AOSP as a upsteam?

To me it would be like if ubuntu compared themselves to debian without saying they are based on debian.

It just feels dishonest somehow.
