I know anecdotes about personal use are annoying, but I found 2mg of adderrall had little noticeable impact on my day to day, with the exception that after work I was less tired. After work I found myself exercising, going to the grocery store, and attending social activists more often.. and that’s about it.
I don’t do it anymore, but if I had better access I definitely would.
I'll agree with that assessment, it's nice to have an occasional boost. But I've also known people that have started with 5mg and quickly worked their way up 20 - 60mg. It too easy to get these prescribed and it's a real pandora's box if you're not careful. Modafinil, while not perfect, seems far safer.
It has already been the scenario for years. I know adderall-popping fresh grads is a valley stereotype, but I’m here with an update from the flyovers. It’s not just there, just young people or just office jobs.
This lack of insight in the article was kinda surprising until I realized they were writing to normalize it. It’s easier to buy it as something new than spinning a current negative into a positive.
"has already been the scenario for years" and the article is from 2016 - I take 30mg Adderall each morning and have since being diagnosed, its really helped me but it 100% shouldn't be used by certain people. I've always had people asking to buy my medication from me when they find out, as recently as last week.
This is what I've read as well. I have been unable, however to find much information on how bad it is comparatively. Is it much worse than having a couple beers everyday?
There are also analogue RC's such as Flmodafinil that fall into that mostly legal grey zone. I haven't personally tried any, but I've heard Flmodafinil in particular is both stronger and easier on the liver.
Would psychedelic microdosing be considered a "smart drug"? The article doesn't mention it, but it seemed to be (still is?) a pretty popular practice, especially amongst West Coast techies.
It’s been in the office for at least 100 years. It’s called coffee. Oh, and nicotine.
I was in a piece about 10 years ago for ABC Nightline about taking modafinil in Silicon Valley. I used it when I was starting my company Bulletproof. The effect is real.

Adrafinil, a prodrug to modafinil, is legal without prescription in the United States.
