Ask HN: How do we realistically begin improving the integrity of online reviews?

This is a very complicated question, but one that I think most users of the Internet, especially during the pandemic, would be interested in solving. How do we realistically fix the issue of not trusting online reviews anymore? Is there any way to counteract the fake ones, and is the general population becoming better at spotting them?
