Google is stuck between a rock and hard place here. Either enforce the 30% policy and get pushed out of India, or selectively choose to ignore and get accused of favouritism by developers in the US. I feel like they're taking the coward's way out; they should've looked into reducing the cut globally to a point where nobody would object.
My guess is that any exec who could authorize a lower global rate would never do that. It's a decision that makes their product's revenue drop in the short run, and it makes them look weak compared to Apple.
Well it's funny to see that after years of working and hiring best in industry, the ads is still the main income source for google. Dropping price will help google in long run. If google drops, eventually apple will also be pressurised to drop percentage.
