I saw the trailer for this documentary. I hope it succeeds; how this documentary differs from other stories about the history of personal computing is its coverage of personal computing after the 1980s and how personal computing has gone in directions that have unfortunately disappointed pioneers such as Alan Kay, where commercial pressures have deemphasized personal empowerment as a characteristic of personal computing, and how corporations have increased control over the personal computing experience. Hopefully this documentary will help spark some well-needed discussions about the future of personal computing.
