Seems that if you upgrade they'll provide the support, as seen in:

"As of 2020-08-15 GitLab Support is no longer processing requests to disable two-factor authentication for free accounts that do not have a GitLab.com subscription, to safeguard the security of our users".

They probably don't have the resources to assist users who don't support them financially. Fair enough!

I didn't even pass the security test to get my account back . They asked me specific things and to say what commit I did several months ago...
