Ask HN: What's your next choice for laptops after Lenovo, Dell and HP?

Is there a passable fourth choice behind the Lenovo, Dell, & HP triumvirate for light business use laptops?

Ideally, I'd like something that falls between the price points of a big-box crapbook and a Thinkpad T-series but is built well enough to stand up to light-duty business use, in a work-from-home setting, without overheating daily or falling apart after a few months.

This is for someone who's somewhat disabled. They have a limited budget but also can't treat hardware gently enough for fragile consumer laptops to be a viable choice.

8GB RAM / 128GB SSD / FHD (or even HD+) non-glare screen is good enough.

Any suggestions?

If pricepoint is the main concern, have you considered buying one of those used?
That is my usual practice. However, the pandemic has increased the prices of used/refurbished notebooks so much that it's no longer worth the risk to buy used.
