Not using OpenBSD, but I'm running PopOS! after years on MacOs on a non-descript Walmart laptop. I was able to remove the branding on this one, so it's just some silver laptop on the outside. I was able to upgrade to 16gb of Ram and 1.5TB HDD for right at about $600 all together. I also have big USB ports, rj45, hdmi and a microSd reader. I can't complain. Things are fast and snappy and battery life is great. I was familiar with Linux before this, but this full plunge I took earlier this year has been awesome.
One thing I do miss is the Notes app since I could use it on my phone, but they can be accessed via the web.
Someone went from Mac to... that? Also, why use the word Omnipresent if there are omnipresent things in all operating systems that someone else would likely complain about just as similarly.
Yeah during the whole read I was like, why the fk do I care? This is your opinion, go enjoy FreeBSD if that's something you like. There are no objective arguments there.
Also claims never used the Dock once, I highly doubt that. Or maybe that's why he didn't like the OS.
I don't love a lot of things Apple does either, but about half the items in the complaint list can be turned off or hidden. So, I'm not sure if I'd give up all the things the author misses for the other half of the list.
I also have a thinkpad, and I like to boot into Ubuntu for some tasks. One improvement I'd love there would be the ability to boot linux, or any OS, from an SD Card. Then I can have a number of different OSs on different cards and switch between them with very little setup overhead.
