Tell HN: HN now displays the GitHub or Twitter username in the truncated URL

Examples I've noticed so far:

https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=twitter.com/foone

https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=github.com/simonw

I find this a great feature for keeping track of individual sources.

You can still use the domain without the username to see all submissions:

https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=twitter.com

https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=github.com

Yup, came here to say that. I think this is a great development, since the subresources of github, twitter and mediume have nothing to do with each other (as opposed to other subresources like a normal TLD).
I think this is one of the few aspects where tumblr is more logical than other social networks, by using a subdomain for each user instead of the path.

I think reddit accepts this too to some extent - for example, programming.reddit.com will redirect you to reddit.com/r/programming.

This is awesome. Thanks mods for rolling this out.
Yep, pretty sure that's been around for years. I click the domain (to the right of the submitted link).

Ignore that ^

Okay I see now, HN has always kept track of domains, but now is tracking users in some cases.

Would it be a good idea for Reddit's links to have the same treatment as well?
